What is CyberStart?

In CyberStart, you’ll become a crime-busting undercover agent at the Cyber Protection Agency (CPA). As an agent, you’ll use real cyber security techniques to tackle criminal gangs’ unlawful plans.

CyberStart has four bases - Intern, HQ, Moon and Forensics. Each base has levels to unlock, challenges to explore and cyber security disciplines to learn.

You’ll build your knowledge in programming, Linux, cryptography, pen testing, and many more in-demand cyber security techniques through CyberStart’s realistic hacker labs.

How to play CyberStart?

After creating your CyberStart account and picking your profile character, it’s time to dive into some exciting challenges.

Intern base is an excellent place to start your CyberStart adventure. Through 12 free and unlocked challenges, you’ll try a variety of fascinating cyber security techniques and can get a better idea of your skill level.

Register for your free CyberStart trial to play Intern base.

If you upgrade your CyberStart account, you’ll gain access to HQ, Moon and Forensics base.

From the Slootmaekers snatching bikes in Amsterdam to the Spetzners stealing secret weapons in Russia, there’s plenty of intriguing cases to solve in HQ base.

You’ll catch cyber criminals using cyber security techniques like ethical hacking, password cracking and data manipulation. With these skills, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of different digital security measures. You’ll also learn techniques needed for cyber security jobs like pen testing and digital forensic analysis.

In Moon base, you’ll learn how to build programmes in Python, which is a popular coding language needed for many cyber security jobs.

Use your newfound programming skills to detect mysterious signals from outer space and stop aliens from conducting their disastrous plans. You’ll then have the programming knowledge to build your own programs and boost your employability in real life!

CyberStart challenge

In Forensics base, you’ll become a digital crime-scene detective. Hunt for hidden messages in pictures, listen to secret phone conversations and investigate suspicious files to reconstruct criminal timelines and analyse evidence.

Many people find they have a natural talent for digital forensics, and it’s a fantastic way to train your brain in creativity and thinking outside of the box. Build these empowering skills in Forensics base, and you’ll become a fantastic problem-solver in the real world!

Don’t like commitments or get bored quickly?

The self-paced cyber security game lets you move between different bases and challenges at your leisure. Jump between different storylines, cases and cyber security disciplines whenever you want.

Need a competitive boost or want to track your progress?

For every challenge you solve, you’ll earn points.

You can see your and your friends’ points and challenge progress on your Groups leaderboards. Compete for points, race to the top of your leaderboard, or see who is stuck and give them a helping hand.

You can also spend points to see hints if you get stuck on a challenge. Use hints wisely, as they’ll show up on your Groups leaderboard and drop your overall points score.
